Is fut or fue hair transplant?

FUT OR FUE

In recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of men and women seeking hair transplants to tackle baldness and hair loss concerns. genetic predisposition is the predominant cause for hair loss and balding in men although a few women may also be affected, hence it's not surprising that people are in search of a solution such as hair transplants.

However, there are two different types of hair transplants currently available to patients, Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) and Follicular Unit Excision (FUE)..

But knowing the differences between the two will inevitably help you find the most appropriate solution to meet your hair loss condition

What is follicular unit transplantation
This form of hair transplant was done very widely until a few years ago. Also known as the ‘strip method’, FUT involves taking linear strips of scalp skin about 15cm long and about 2 cm wide containing genetically resistant hair follicles. Individual hair follicles are then isolated using fine separation techniques and these units are transplanted onto the recipient areas in the front of the scalp ..

What is follicular unit extraction
In contrast to FUT, the FUE procedure involves harvesting individual follicles from genetically resistant areas of the scalp, then carefully inserting the individual follicles into the scalp where hair loss has occurred. This is a revolutionary hair transplant procedure that has grown in popularity over the years .it has a good success rate and doesn’t involve cutting and stitching the skin together

FUT and FUE – The Benefits
The results of a hair transplant are dependent entirely on the surgeon who performs it and how he sets up his operating room and his team . FUT and FUE yield the same quality of grafts when performed by a skillful and passionate plastic surgeon.

But due to the less-invasive nature of FUE, many patients will experience a slightly quicker recovery time and less discomfort. However, with both procedures, the downtime is relatively low and you should begin to see normal hair growth within 3-6 months, which is a very short time in comparison to a lifetime of baldness.
